Titan smiles at Rush Cup

(04.21.10)

"Did your team win?" "What was the score?"
Common questions asked after a two day soccer tournament. Whether our team "won" is a matter of perspective. Let me give you a recap of our weekend games.

Our girls ran up and down the field with big smiles. Their faces were red and sweaty from the physical activity as they ran up and down the field after that ball. Our girls encouraged their teammates. Coach Arocha was patient and positive. His smile never left his face. Our girl's self confidence soared as their adoring fans cheered them on throughout the game. When the game was over their rewards were hugs and kisses.

Ask me the final score of any of the three games. I don't know. Ask me if our Titan Butterflies won. You bet they did.

-Andrea Forsythe GU5 Titan Butterflies

Titan Players Continue to Flourish

(04.20.11)

As the Developmental season continues, we are seeing teams start to gel together and players begin to express themselves by trying out their newly acquired soccer skills. More players are also being recognized by coaches for their determination to improve. We honor the latest recipients of the Titan Way to Go card on the Announcement page of our website.

Way to Go Isabella!

(04.07.11)

Coaches love working with players who want to learn new skills. We want players who will try a new technique and not be afraid if they mess up. We love risk takers, and encourage players to put their new found skills into their games and scrimmages, even if they fail! This is how players develop. Here at Titan Soccer club, we want to reward those players who are trying to put new skills or ideas into practice.

Titan coaches are looking for examples of the "Rush way to play" which can include displaying passion for the game, being a good team mate, being creative, being tenacious, working hard to win a ball back or trying new skills to name but a few. Coaches will then award a Titan Way to Go card to players who show these traits. Our honor board of recipients is listed on the Announcement page of the website, and will be updated weekly.

This week we would like to recognize Isabella on the U5 Girls Titan Dolphins team. Coach Clem has been asking the Dolphins to dribble to space when they receive the ball so that they are not immediately challenged by a defender. Isabella has taken this to heart and added it to her game and as a result was given a Way to Go card by Coach Clem. Awesome job Isabella!! Keep up the good work.

Titan players - will you be the next player to be recognized by your coach?

Titan SC -- Strong Showing in Spring Cup Tournament

(03.08.11)

As we look forward to an exciting Spring 2011 Season, Titan SC is off to a great start with a solid performance from the U12 Titans and the U14 Renegades. Both teams competed brilliantly in this past weekend's Spring Cup Tournament and the Renegades brought home another Championship trophy to the Club. The U12 Titans showed their grit with two victories in qualification matches and finished in 3rd place while the U14 Renegades fought back from a 1-3 deficit for a spectacular 4-3 win in a preliminary match which secured a place in the Championship Game. Facing a very physical team from Cheyenne, Wyoming the Renegades held their ground and were victorious with a 1-0 score in the Final! Congratulations to both teams and the very best of luck to all of our Titan teams this Spring!!

Sterling Ranch Rezoning
(12.09.10)

Allow me to give you some back ground on a vision we, the Rush, had established 18 years ago. The vision was to create a soccer complex that the Rush could own and operate. History:
-In 1992, the Rush Board of Directors motioned to charge each member of the Rush $5.00 per child per year earmarked for field development.
-In 2004, the Rush purchased 53 acres on the corner of Titan and Roxborough.
-In 2007, the Rush partnered with a Land Developer Sterling Ranch. Sterling Ranch owns around 3,000 acres in an around our property. The area is called the Chatfield Basin.
This past three years, Sterling Ranch has been working with Douglas County to rezone the Chatfield basin. The decision to accept or reject the rezoning plan will be made by three County Commissioners at the end of January.
One of the areas the County Commissioner will base their decision on is the public's opinion and input. Here is where the Rush come in to play. We need letters and emails sent to the County Commissioners…lots of them. I am asking you to write a letter to express your interest in favor of the rezoning. I have attached sample letters. We need to get aggressive and we need to be tenacious. We need hundreds and hundred of letters streaming into the commissioners. Please, let's see our vision that we established 18 years ago take one more step towards reality.

Send to one of the following County Commissioners (you make pick one or all three) Jack Hilbert, Steve Boand, Jill Repella.

2011 Spring Registration Has Begun

Titan Soccer Complex

Dear Titan Family,
As you may know, we have been working hard for many years to realize the dream of moving the Rush to a permanent home that reflects the values and worth of our organization. We believe we've found the place where that dream can become reality. Sterling Ranch is a new development in the Chatfield basin that will feature new homes, new retail, new schools, and a new state of the art sports village that could be our future home. Sterling Ranch has two procedural hurdles to clear. First, the Douglas County Planning Commission will review a re-zoning application on October 25th and 26th, after which, they will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. Second, the Board of County Commissioners will review the recommendations from the Planning Commission and either approve or deny the re-zoning application. If the Douglas County Commissioners approve the application, we will be one very important step closer to realizing the vision of Rush Soccer.

This is a public process. The success or failure of the project could depend on the level of support it receives. If you share our vision and want to help us make it a reality, please attend rezoning application on October 25th and/or 26th at 7pm. We need numbers to show our support and make an impact.

Saturday 9/11 saw the opening games of the Fall season for Titan Soccer Club teams. Sunny weather and great attitudes brought a sense of fun to the fields, and our players worked tirelessly as they tried to score the goals that put smiles onto everyone's' faces. This award is given to players who have shown something special in their games - trying new moves, exceptional work rate, leadership etc - and have made a positive impact on their team. A board with the recipients names is located on the Announcements page of the www.titansoccerclub.com website. Could you be the next recipient?
